We had to expect it — that this wretched virus would return even harder in autumn. The rising infection numbers will demand everything of us, and our friends in the winter tourism areas will experience the worst ski season ever. And yet we must not give up! As terrible as these times are, one thing is certain: a vaccine will come and the nightmare will end. After that, we will experience a new boom in wanderlust, the desire for holidays and going out. The unknown is only: when? It is not easy to enjoy life right now. We cannot be carefree and must restrict our social contacts to a minimum. So we are cooking more and enjoying our wonderful wines at home. Please, let us support the restaurant trade wherever we can. To keep our travel dreams alive, we dedicated six particularly 'aromatic travel destinations' to you in this issue — in keeping with the cover theme: 'Spices'. Our culinary memory is strongly orientated towards aromas and scents. Enjoy the themes in Falstaff, don't let Covid rob you of life's pleasures, and let us all not lose the courage and hope that next autumn will again be wonderful and inspiring!
