At last — albeit slowly and with restrictions — normal life is beginning again! The past weeks have been a test of endurance for everyone. Many in gastronomy and hospitality still don't know whether they will survive this period of total revenue loss. No one has come through unscathed, and we must hope that the anticipated second wave reaches us in a weakened form.

The hardest-hit sectors are tourism, gastronomy and hospitality. All the more do restaurateurs and hoteliers need the support of the FALSTAFF community, which already numbers two million pleasure-seekers. Chamber of Commerce President Harald Mahrer appeals in this issue: 'Let's enjoy life again!' The more we enjoy, the more efficiently we support the sector that needs it most urgently. That is why we placed this issue under the motto 'Austria — culinary holidays in your own country'. Even as international travel restrictions lift, the good things are so close — Austria, one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Let us enjoy our fantastic mountains, lakes, meadows and forests and the many thousands of places to eat and drink. If this wretched crisis has brought anything good at all, it is the realisation of how volatile and fragile our lives and prosperity are. Stay healthy — and enjoy!
